Overview
This skill set will provide you with the skills and knowledge to inspect and service battery electric vehicle (BEV) systems on a variety of electric vehicles in the automotive service and repair industry.
This skill set is for individuals with existing automotive technology skills and knowledge, who work in automotive mechanical or electrical technical contexts, and who are looking to upskill in the area of BEVs.
To achieve the National Skill Set AURSS00064 Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing Skill Set you need to complete:
AURETH101 Depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicles
AURETH102 Inspect and maintain battery electric vehicles
AURETH103 Diagnose and repair high voltage rechargeable energy storage systems in battery electric vehicles
AURETH107 Diagnose and repair system instrumentation in safety interlocks in battery electric vehicles

Additional Information
You will need to wear appropriate personal protective clothing when in the CIT Automotive Workshops. These include:
- Overalls
- Long pants - cotton drill/ jeans
- Leather safety boots EH (Electrical Hazard Rated)
- Safety glasses
Entry Requirements
This skill set is for individuals with existing automotive technology skills and knowledge, who work in automotive mechanical or electrical technical contexts, and who are looking to upskill in the area of BEVs.r>
This skill set is limited to those who have completed one of the following qualifications:
- AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
Skills Recognition
To study any course at CIT (excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
