Our visual arts courses offer access to large workshops and are taught by professional artists and designers. They give you a wide range of practical experience, meaning you're work-ready when you go out into the field.
The Certificate III in Design Fundamentals is an 18-week entry-level course that gives you an introduction to the fundamental skills, knowledge and experience you need to build a portfolio for entry into the diploma and advanced diploma level courses. Offered both full-time and part-time, the course is for you if you wish to explore a range of creative industry career options.
The Certificate IV in Visual Arts is a 18-week (1 semester course). You will develop and refine your skills and knowledge to demonstrate proficiency in your chosen art form. You will gain a broad and integrated factual, technical and theoretical knowledge with cognitive skills that allow you to analyse, compare and act on information from a range of sources.
The Diploma of Visual Arts is a year-long studio-based course offering a broad range of studio electives spanning painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, digital imaging, art theory, creative thinking and creative collaboration. This course offers a pathway into the bachelor degree in visual arts at Australian National University (ANU).
Illustration and Design for Comics, Graphic Novels and Street Art
Are you looking to sharpen your illustration skills, design graphic novels or learn street art techniques? In this short course you will develop practical skills in graphic styles of drawing suited to book illustration, comics, and street art.
