Applying to study

CIT offers a range of qualifications from certificates to degrees, apprenticeships and traineeships. Once you know what you'd like to study, you will need to enrol in your course.

New students

Step 1

Prepare to study

Do you have all your documents required to enrol?

Check out the Enrolment Information page - it provides an overview of all the information you may require before enrolling at CIT.

Step 2

Do you have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)?

It is a requirement that all new and continuing CIT students who are registering into any nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) course in Australia (or overseas from an Australian-registered provider) have a USI. You cannot enrol or graduate without one.

Don't have one? Visit USI.gov.au to apply securely online, at no cost.

Already have one from previous study? You will need to verify it in CIT Self Service, our student administration system, so your enrolment or graduation isn't delayed. Your details must exactly match the ones you used to apply for your USI.

Step 3

Applying for a course

All applications for CIT are now online.

If you are unable to apply online please contact Student Services via Live Chat , or emailing infoline@cit.edu.au or in person by attending any Student Services location.

Step 4

Enrolling into your subjects

Once you have been admitted into your chosen course, you must ENROL into your subjects. To enrol you will either:

  • Attend a face-to-face enrolment session
    OR
  • Enrol online - to do this you will need the class reference numbers (CRNs). These are available either on the course timetable or provided to you by the teacher.

Note: Some courses allow you to enrol at any time - follow the directions on the course information page on the CIT website.

Step 5

Payment

The enrolment process is not complete until your fees are paid. You will be issued with an invoice for your course fees and due date for payment. A range of financial assistance options are available for eligible students to help with payment.

Please ensure you read through and regularly visit the Current student information on the CIT website. CIT offers many support services and facilities for students which you will see listed in the CIT Induction.
