ABOUT THE COURSE

Strengthen your music theory and composition knowledge, music performance ability in contemporary styles, and gain essential skills for working in the music industry.

This course is designed for Year 11 and 12 students planning a career as a professional musician and is taught as a series of night classes over two years.

Delivered at CIT's professional music studios at CIT Reid, this hands-on course encourages students to build the confidence and real-world skills required for a career in the music industry. Students learn to develop their skills as a working musician through music performances and recording opportunities, including public music events and studio recording sessions.

After successful completion of this nationally recognised training course students will be issued with the Certificate IV in Music Industry (CUA40920). Students can apply for recognition on their ACT Senior Secondary Certificate through their school, subject to ACT BSSS certification rules.

Duration: 2 years, part-time (studied alongside Year 11 and 12)

Class Time: 1 evening per week, during school terms

Weekly Commitment: 4.5 hours of class per week, plus study and practice time

Classes for the next Music Enrichment Course commence on Monday 13 February 2023.

Entry is by audition only.

Auditions will be held on Friday 3 February 2023, at CIT Reid.
