Who can apply

Eligible students, including Australian Apprentices, may receive a 50% concession on course fees if they hold one of the following:

• Pensioner Concession Card (PCC)
• Health Care Card
• Department of Veterans' Affairs Pension Card.

If you're an Australian Apprentice

Australian Apprentices who do not hold a Health Care Card may still qualify for a concession by either:

• providing payslips demonstrating low-income status
• applying under financial hardship provisions.

If you're a sponsored student

Concessions are not available to students whose fees are paid by:

• government agencies
• public or private employers
• funded employment agencies.

When to apply

To receive a fee concession, you must do all of the following:

• apply at the time of enrolment or re-enrolment
• submit a new application each semester
• apply before your first class.

What you need to apply

You will need to provide proof of eligibility. Accepted documents include:

• Centrelink Income Statement showing your:
  • name
  • address
  • benefit type
  • benefit commencement date
• Centrelink Letter of Confirmation showing your:
  • name
  • address
  • benefit type
  • benefit commencement date
• Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) or Health Care Card
• a completed Centrelink Client Consent Form
• Department of Veterans' Affairs Gold Card.

Student Services will assess your eligibility before applying the concession to your account.

How to apply

When you have all the evidence required, apply using the CIT Concession Application Form.

What concessions do not apply to

Fee concessions are not available for:

• CIT commercial courses
• international student fees
• CIT Card replacement fees
• project or resource fees
• excursion fees
• administration fees
• printing and photocopying charges
• graduation robe hire fees
• replacement award fees.

Fees and study load

Course fees vary depending on the qualification and your study load.

Note: Study hours may include:

• theory and practical classes
• industry placements or practicums
• self-paced and self-directed learning
• private study
• project and research work
• on-campus and off-campus activities.
