Overview
This entry-level qualification gives students an introductory understanding of music theory, foundation skills in live and studio production environments, and an understanding of current sound production technologies. Through practical collaborative projects and classes, students are encouraged to develop their confidence and ability to innovate and become future leaders in the music industry. This course provides practical performance and sound production opportunities for students through public music events and real-life projects with industry clients. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for the Certificate IV in Music Industry.

Entry Requirements
Although an entry level qualification, students entering this course will have a background in music/sound from either high school or amateur experience. Students intending to enrol in the Introduction to Ensembles cluster will need to contact the Music Industry Centre (MIC) on 6207 3583 to book an audition.

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
