Overview

The Diploma in Screen and Media provides a study pathway that supports workforce development of Screen and Media professionals for a career in Screen Production within the ACT region and abroad. This qualification covers the application of skills and knowledge required to enable learners to work in a range of screen and media industries and will provide you with comprehensive knowledge of broadcast and electronic media production processes, equipment, and technology. You will understand all stages of production from scripting through to post-production.

Duration:

This course is delivered full time for two (2) semesters (approximately 24 hours per week).
You are required to attend classes scheduled for delivery from Tuesday to Thursday inclusive, 9:30am till 4:30pm and from 9:30am till 12:30pm on Fridays.
You will be required to complete additional activities outside of these scheduled classes, including readings, script writing, film and sound production, and editing.

Additional Information

You are required to provide headphones for use during the completion of this course, and an external hard drive for back up and storage of files.
This qualification will require you to work effectively as a team to design and develop media productions. You will complete individual roles that support this development process. The collaboration may include working with other areas of CIT not just within the Screen and Media department.
You will be provided the skills and knowledge to enhance your communication and team building skills to support the production collaboration.

Entry Requirements

Individuals must provide evidence of a demonstrated interest in the Screen and Media field as well as the ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
