Overview

Over eight weeks of face-to-face classes, you will dive into basic camerawork, lighting, editing and storyboards. You will learn about the importance of storyboards and scripting when preparing a movie, and workshop storytelling. You will pitch your scripts for production, and the chosen script(s) have the chance to make it as an entry for a local or national film festival!

The course covers and assesses the Units of Competency: CUAPPM417 Create Storyboards, CUACAM211 Assist with Basic Camera Shoots, CUAPOS211 Perform Basic Vision and Sound Editing.

      Cost: Standard $350.00
      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform basic editing functions for media productions. It involves preparing source materials to be edited and completing basic edits according to production requirements. The unit applies to those who are responsible for digitising, cutting and logging pre-recorded image and audio content under the direction of an experienced editor. Within clearly defined parameters, they also edit content using the basic functions of editing software.

  • CUAPPM417   Create storyboards

      Cost: Standard $355.00
      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to create storyboards for different digital content, including video, film, animation and interactive media. The unit applies to those who break down content, stories or scripts into discrete elements and visualise creative concepts in collaboration with a creative production team. Depending on the type and scale of production, storyboard artists, designers, producers and information architects may create storyboards. In some industry environments, they may work closely with directors, producers and in a team. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

  • CUACAM211   Assist with basic camera shoots

      Cost: Standard $390.00
      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assist with setting up and shooting low-budget, low-end single-camera video productions. Individuals prepare for and assist with shoots on location, shoot and record video sequences and ensure the shoot is wrapped up. The unit applies to those who work under the direction of a qualified camera operator on pre-production and production tasks, including shooting footage with basic camera equipment. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
