End of year exhibitions at CIT

Published: 08 Dec 2020

As 2020 draws to a close students at the Canberra Institute of Technology will be taking part in a range of end of year activities including a number of final exhibitions allowing students to show the skills they have developed during their studies.

The work on display this year is particularly inspiring given the extra pressures 2020 put on students, such as bushfires and COVID-19, and CIT is very proud of what our students have achieved.

Art of Flowers

From 26 to 29 November CIT Floristry students will display their most recent arrangements at the Art of Flowers exhibition at Cuppacumbalong Homestead in Tharwa. The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 4 pm each day, and it will be a great opportunity to see some imaginative and striking floral arrangements in a charming country setting.

MicFest

CIT will also be presenting nine hours of live music as part of our annual end of year music festival. MicFest will be held on 4 December from 2 pm at CIT Reid in the quad.

CIT Visual Arts graduation exhibition

An exhibition of artwork from students graduating from the Diploma of Visual Arts (CUA51115) and the Certificate IV in Visual Arts (CUA41315) will be held at the Design Space gallery (ground floor F Block and first floor L Block) at Reid Campus. The exhibition is a mixture of installations, sculpture and paintings. It will be open to the public on 28 November and 4 and 5 December between 10 am and 4 pm.

Design Vision

Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA60315) students will also host their end of year exhibition, Design Vision, at the Design Space at CIT Reid from 8 to 11 December.

CIT Fashion graduation exhibition

The CIT Fashion graduation exhibition will be held virtually. This exhibition of work by students graduating from the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising (MST50119) will open online on 10 December. Part of the collection on display has been created for a real client, an adventure wear company.

Digital Takeaway 2020

The CIT Interior Design graduation exhibition will be held virtually, opening on 10 December 2020. The exhibition, called Digital Takeaway 2020, will be a selection of work put together by students graduating from the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design (MSF60118).

CIT Photography graduation exhibition

Work by Certificate IV in Photography and Photo Imaging (CUA41115) will be launching their own small groups virtual exhibitions as part of their studies. Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging (CUA50915) students will be online from 10 December.

Virtual exhibitions will be available to access through the Fashion, Interior Design and Photography sections of the CIT website.
