Our visual arts courses offer access to large workshops and are taught by professional artists and designers. They give you a wide range of practical experience, meaning you're work-ready when you go out into the field.
The Certificate III in Design Fundamentals is an 18-week entry-level course that gives you an introduction to the fundamental skills, knowledge and experience you need to build a portfolio for entry into the diploma and advanced diploma level courses. Offered both full-time and part-time, the course is for you if you wish to explore a range of creative industry career options.
The Certificate IV in Visual Arts is a 36-week (2 semester course). You will develop and refine your skills and knowledge to demonstrate proficiency in your chosen art form. You will gain a broad and integrated factual, technical and theoretical knowledge with cognitive skills that allow you to analyse, compare and act on information from a range of sources.
The Diploma of Visual Arts is a year-long studio-based course offering a broad range of studio electives spanning painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, digital imaging, art theory, creative thinking and creative collaboration. This course offers a pathway into the bachelor degree in visual arts at Australian National University (ANU).
