The Brighte Pathways: Women in Sustainable Energy Scholarship provides an opportunity for the personal and professional development of female trade professionals to further their experience and career development in the renewable energy disciplines.

The fund offers up to eight scholarships for women who wish to obtain a qualification in any of the following courses in 2024:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Electric Vehicle Technology
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
  • Certificate III in Electronics and Communications
  • Training in Insulation Installation

It is available to female students, studying full or part-time, enrolling or intending to enrol in an eligible CIT qualification.

Scholarships are awarded to women students who demonstrate a commitment to study and to the environment. The value of the scholarship is up to $2,250 per scholarship to directly contribute to CIT student fees across the period of study. The scholarship money may also be used to purchase recommended equipment for the studies. In addition to the scholarship, Brighte will commit to fund the Solar Accreditation Australia costs for the eligible female CIT students who are awarded financial scholarships.

Scholarships will be awarded from Semester 1 2024, with subsequent scholarship rounds organised until all the scholarship funding is allocated.

Applications for the scholarship for study commencing in Semester 1 2024 must be received by 12 April 2024, 3pm. A further scholarship round may be undertaken if there is still funding available after this round.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for a Scholarship, applicants must:

  • be Australian citizens or have permanent Australian resident status
  • enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the CIT qualifications starting in Semester 1, 2024
  • committed to complete the nominated qualification at CIT before the end of Semester 2 2026
  • complete and submit the application form provided by CIT
  • attest that they are not in receipt of any other scholarship valued in excess of $500 in total at the time of application
  • provide evidence of:
    • a commitment to study; and
    • commitment to the renewable energy and/or the sustainability industries.
