The ACT Government Grants page promotes a wide variety of ACT Government grants and scholarships for individuals, groups, and organisations.

Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant

Value: $5,000

Application Closing Date: Thursday 01 October 2026

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, you must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and be studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:

  • Aged Care
  • Aged Care Nursing
  • Dementia Care
  • Disabilities Care
  • any other courses leading to similar careers as an aged carer.

Only citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply.

You must have reached 18 years of age or older to enter.

Employees of Australian Seniors Insurance Agency and of Greenstone Financial Services (GFS) and their immediate family members (including the spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, guardian, child or sibling ("Immediate Family Members")) are ineligible to enter as an applicant for the Grant.

How to apply:

All applicants must email the following documentation to grants@seniors.com.au for their submission to be considered:

  • proof of identification, such as a driver’s license or photo card
  • proof of enrolment, such as a statement of enrolment, enrolment letter, or transcript including your course name, tertiary institution name and enrolment status
  • your response (max word count 700 words)
  • contact details (including residential address).

Bert Evans Apprentice Scholarships

Value:  Currently $5,000 per year, for up to 3 years

Application Closing Date: Wednesday 30 September 2026

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be:

  • first-year apprentices approved in NSW, including school-based apprentices (trainees, including school-based trainees, are not eligible)
  • experiencing financial and/or personal hardship
  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • employed by an employer based in NSW.

How to apply: Applications are submitted via an online application portal. You will also be required to provide supporting documents to demonstrate meeting the eligibility and assessment criteria.

BizCover Tools of the Trade Grant

Value: $1,000 each

Application Closing Date: Wednesday 31 March 2027

Number Available: 12 each year (1 per month)

Eligibility Criteria: The program supports people who are completing a trade and need tools to complete their apprenticeship or traineeship. The program supports a wide range of industries including, but not limited to, construction, electrical, plumbing, automotive, hospitality, and other skilled trades.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. be studying through either TAFE or a registered private training provider (RTO)
  2. be currently undertaking training for a trade in Australia
  3. be an Australian resident or eligible to work in Australia
  4. be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.

Applicants must submit an online application through the BizCover website.

How to apply:

Applications typically require:

  1. personal details
  2. training provider details
  3. proof of course enrolment
  4. details about the applicant’s trade
  5. a short paragraph explaining why the tools are needed and how the grant would help their training or career.

Applications open monthly. Submissions due by end of each month.

BizCover Women in IT Scholarship

Value:  $5,000 and the opportunity to work for BizCover in a 3-month paid work placement program.

Eligibility Criteria: Female students in Australia currently studying IT-related degrees or qualifications, including Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering and related fields.

How to apply: Applicants must submit an online application through the BizCover website with:

  • personal details
  • proof of course enrolment and copy of academic transcript
  • 1000-word response, describing an IT-related project you have previously been involved in, or wish to pursue after study.

Applicants must attend a video interview over Zoom.

Buddy Pet Insurance Future Animal Carer's Grant

Value: $5,000

Application Closing Date: Thursday 01 October 2026

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, at the time of your application you must:

  • be a domestic undergraduate enrolled full-time at the time of entry in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:  Veterinary Medicine; Veterinary Science; Veterinary & Life Sciences; Animal Care; Veterinary Nursing; Animal Studies; Animal Sciences; Animal Nutrition; Veterinary Technology or any other courses leading to similar careers as an animal carer or pet health specialist
  • be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  • be 18 years of age or over at the time of your application to apply
  • abide by the Terms and Conditions for an entry to be deemed eligible.

Employees and immediate family members including the spouse, de facto, parent, guardian, child, or sibling (Immediate Family Members) of Buddy Pet Insurance, and Greenstone Financial Services Pty Ltd are ineligible to enter.

How to apply: All applicants must provide the following:

  • proof of identification, such as a driver’s license or photo card
  • contact details
  • proof of enrolment
  • maximum 700-word response addressing the challenge in a Word document (.doc or .docx).

Commonwealth Prac Payment (VET)

Value: Varies

Number Available: Many

Eligibility Criteria:  The CPP (VET) is for eligible Diploma of Nursing students.

Eligible Diploma of Nursing students will need to:

  • be a domestic student
  • be undertaking a full-time mandatory prac placement of a minimum average of 30 hours or more per week.

They will also need to either:

  • receive an eligible income support payment (like Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY, Disability Support Pension or some Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) income support payments. You can see a full list in the CPP (VET) Guidelines.)
  • be working at least 60 hours on average over a continuous 4-week period (e.g. average of more than 15 hours per week) during the most recent study period before applying (that is, not during holidays) and not earn more than the applicable weekly income threshold (before tax) during that time.

Country Education Foundation

Varies based on need

CEF grants are based on financial need, not academic success. You will however, need to demonstrate commitment to achieving your goal. The four essential selection criteria are:

  • You have a demonstrated financial need;
  • You are aged 16-25 years;
  • You have attended school in or currently live in the region covered by your local CEF (view full list HERE); and

You are able to demonstrate commitment to achieving your goal.

Fee Assistance

Value:  Approved funding can cover up to 50% of your unpaid invoices (after you pay the first $20) and/or required course materials.

You can submit more than one application in the same semester, but the total support is capped at $650 per student, per semester.

The amount you receive depends on what you request and the funds available when we process your application.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Be enrolled in a program/course/subject and have a Citizenship status eligible for assistance.
  2. Have outstanding course fees and/or required course materials available only through CITSA Bookshop.
  3. Have a gross income less than or equal to the income threshold relating to your circumstances or demonstrate exceptional circumstances, if over the income threshold.
  4. Demonstrate a commitment to studies by being prepared to contribute the remaining cost of your course and have satisfactory results.
  5. Pay a $20.00 contribution towards your fees before applying (required only once per semester).

Financial support for apprentices

Details: As an Australian Apprentice, you may be eligible for financial and non-financial support from the Australian Government and your State or Territory Government.

Larsen Jewellery Design Scholarship Program

Value:  $3,000 to go towards the University or TAFE tuition fees of one individual, for either a jewellery or jewellery design related course, or a design or visual arts related course.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must display an interest and passion for jewellery, design or visual arts.
  • Applicant must be either accepted, enrolled or in the process of applying to an Australian University or TAFE for either a jewellery or jewellery design related course, or a design or visual arts related course.

Low-cost Refurbished Laptops

The CIT Student Association (CITSA) operates an initiative for CIT Students to purchase at a low-cost refurbished laptops to help students complete their studies. Students must be able to pick up the device in person. Some financial assistance towards the cost is available for eligible students.

MDT DESIGN Jewellery Design Scholarship

Value: $3,000 towards tuition fees

Application Closing Date: Monday 30 November 2026

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be currently accepted, enrolled, or in the process of applying to a design-related course at an Australian University or TAFE.
  • Display a passion for jewellery design, jewellery manufacturing, or visual arts.
  • Submit a hand-drawn or sketched jewellery design created solely by the applicant.

How to apply: Email your application with:

  • full name, phone number, and email address
  • proof of enrolment (or application) in an eligible course
  • a hand-drawn jewellery design showcasing a wearable and creative piece such as a ring, pair of earrings, pendant, or bracelet
  • a brief statement (up to 300 words) explaining your inspiration for the design and how this scholarship will help achieve your goals in jewellery design or visual arts
  • whether you will be entering the industry for the first time or otherwise be furthering your studies
  • institution and course name of where you wish to study.

NickIreland.com Scholarship for Aspiring Creatives

Value: $3,500 towards tuition fees

Eligibility criteria: This scholarship is open to those who:

  • are deeply passionate about jewellery, design, or the visual arts
  • are enrolled, accepted, or in the process of applying to a design-related course at an Australian University or TAFE.

How to apply:

To apply, simply email the following information to scholarships@nickireland.com:

  • Personal Details: full name, phone number, and email address.
  • Your Journey:  Briefly explain if you’re starting your career in the creative arts, or if you’re continuing your studies and what motivates you to pursue this path.
  • Statement of Purpose: In 700 words or less, describe why you are passionate about jewellery, design, or visual arts, and how this scholarship will support your academic and creative ambitions.
  • Course and Institution: Provide the name of the institution and the course you are currently enrolled in or planning to study.

Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships

Value: Pinnacle scholarships awarded to students in their first year as a Pinnacle scholar are valued at $9,000. Scholarships awarded to returning scholars are valued at $6,750.

Eligibility criteria:

To be eligible for consideration for a Pinnacle Foundation Scholarship, you must meet every one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident (proof required during application stage)
  • at least 18 years of age and younger than 27 years of age on 31 August (the closing date for applications)
  • have achieved good or reasonable scholastic results given your circumstances
  • will be undertaking fulltime studies at a public tertiary institution (including TAFE or university)
  • identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Real Futures Grant

Value: $5,000

Application Closing Date: Thursday 01 October 2026

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, you must be a domestic undergraduate enrolled full-time at the time of entry in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:

  • Business – including any business-related courses from any institution.
  • Finance – including actuarial, statistics, accounting and general finance courses.
  • Medicine – including medical and health sciences, surgery and medical research.
  • Healthcare – including health and fitness-related specialties, sport sciences, health services assistance and international health.
  • Specialist healthcare – including nursing, optometry, dentistry and pharmacy.

Only citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply.

You must have reached 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Employees and Immediate family members including the spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, guardian, child or sibling ("Immediate Family Members") of a Real Insurance employee are ineligible to enter. Employees, and Immediate Family Members of Greenstone Financial Services (GFS) are also ineligible to enter.

Entrants must abide by the Terms and Conditions for an entry to be deemed eligible.

Sisters of Charity Foundation - TAFE Scholarship

Value:  $5,000 per year for up to two years

Number Available: Multiple

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the Tertiary Scholarship Program, applicants must:

  • be a current or former out-of-home care recipient aged 27 or under
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident enrolling in tertiary study
  • be experiencing financial and educational disadvantage
  • be able to demonstrate academic commitment
  • complete the application correctly on time
  • agree to provide ongoing progress reports.

How to apply: Download the TAFE Application form from the website and submit it along with all supporting documents.

Snow Scholarships

Value:  Each Snow Scholarship is valued at up to $30,000 per year, providing residential, academic and wellbeing support to help you focus on your future:

  • on-campus accommodation for 52 weeks each year (valued at approx. $15,000)
  • an annual stipend of approximately $10,000 to help with everyday living costs like food and personal expenses
  • travel and relocation support, including assistance with family visits and unexpected needs
  • support purchasing essential supplies for study
  • tutoring and academic support, provided on top of your regular course
  • health and wellbeing services, including GP visits, psychological counselling, and a gym or sporting membership
  • skill-building programs, including mental health first aid training, financial literacy, cultural awareness training, and support to help you land your first job.

Application Closing Date: Sunday 12 July 2026

Number Available: Up to 16 scholarships may be offered each year. To help build a balanced and inclusive cohort, we will continue to uphold our commitment to gender equity while also aiming to include: approximately a quarter of places to support First Nations scholars, and approximately a quarter of places to support applicants with outstanding academic achievement.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You are not already enrolled, and you plan to commence an undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra in 2027.
  • You are eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place for your chosen course.
  • You can commit to full-time enrolment.
  • You are able to reside in our on-campus accommodation for at least your first year of study.
  • You meet the Student type, Residency and UC Entry Requirements.

Priority will be given to applicants who identify with at least one of the following:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • living in rural or regional NSW
  • facing financial hardship
  • living with disability or ongoing medical condition
  • completed a pathway program
  • have faced some other form of hardship throughout your studies e.g. caring responsibilities.

Tertiary Access Payment (TAP)

Value:  up to $5,000

Eligibility Criteria: You need to be an eligible student from a regional or remote area, moving away from home to study at a tertiary education provider.
