Young people are getting valuable training in hospitality skills and jobs with ClubsACT through the innovative Spark training program at CIT.
CIT, in partnership with Spark and ClubsACT, are delivering an accredited JobTrainer program focusing on skills development, work experience and employment within the licenced club industry.
JobTrainer, jointly funded by the ACT and Australian Government has resulted in strong interest from participants and industry. Eighteen participants are currently completing the training before they undertake work placements in local licensed clubs.
Fiona Mitchell, Director of CIT Industry Engagement said: "Industry participation has been crucial to the program's success with ClubsACT working with their members to gather strong industry participation with six different club groups offering twenty placements at ten different clubs located throughout the ACT." Given the success of the program CIT, Spark and ClubsACT will aim to replicate the program shortly.
This program has been designed specifically to provide individuals the Certificates and entry level skills required to apply for jobs in the licenced club industry. Targeting jobseekers and people aged between 17 - 24 years living or working in the ACT, this program will provide participants with Nationally Accredited courses to ensure they can establish a long-term career in hospitality.
