First Hike for CIT students and staff

CIT staff and students recently enjoyed a day walk at Gibraltar Peak, Tidbinbilla as part of a program organised by The First Hike Project. First Hike is a not-for-profit organisation who coordinate bushwalking and camping adventures for refugee youth.

The walk was a women and girls only event and the group enjoyed the strenuous climb up Gibraltar, a picnic lunch and the stunning views from the Peak.

Lesley Cioccarelli from CIT, who volunteered for the event, said for many of the students this is their first experience of the Australian bush.

"It's also a chance to make new friends, practice speaking English, and just have a great time outdoors in a beautiful place."
