Overview
This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in green keeping. The sports turf industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.
This course is suited to people who wish to obtain a range of technical skills in horticulture and are interested in learning how to establish and maintain a wide variety of sports turf surfaces. It will suit people who are passionate about the environment, like working outdoors and have an aptitude for practical work. The classes are delivered in the purpose built hectare facility at Bruce. Students are given the opportunity to work on a range of projects such as establishing greens, tennis courts, and installing large scale irrigation systems using specialised machinery and equipment.

Stage 1 students attend 1 day per week (Thursday) for the entire year (2 semesters)

Entry Requirements
To be eligible to enter this qualification you must have a Year 10 Certificate or equivalent and be working in the turf industry.
If you are entering this course as an apprentice under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and register with an Australian Network Provider.

To study any course at CIT (excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course.
