Overview

This course provides introductory knowledge and skills for those working in a broad range of industries who as part of their job role engage in cyber security threat assessments and protection against cyber security risk .

You will apply a broad set of skills and knowledge to assist an organisation improve cyber threat awareness and protect against cyber risk across a broad range of industries.

To achieve BSBSS00094 Cyber Security Awareness Skill Set you will need to complete the following units:

  • BSBXCS301 Protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats
  • BSBXCS302 Identify and report online security threats.
  • BSBXCS303 Securely manage personally identifiable information and workplace information
  • BSBXCS402 Promote workplace cyber security awareness and best practices.

Duration:

 Training will be undertaken face to face in CIT’s specialised Cyber laboratory and Training Security Operation Centre (TSOC) at the CIT Reid campus. Training will be completed over 17 weeks (17 days) for a total of 51 hours.
There is the expectation that you will complete up to 68 hours of independent additional study and assessment preparation.

Skills Recognition

Literacy Skills Information

We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course. It applies to those working in a broad range of industries who as part of their job role support policies, procedures and practice within an organisation that promote cyber security. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

  • BSBXCS301   Protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats

      Cost: Full fee $355.00
      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to protect own personal online profile from cyber security threats, and to limit the potential impact of online security breaches. It applies to those working in a broad range of industries and job roles under some supervision and guidance, who protect their own online profile so that it is cyber secure. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify and report online security threats to limit potential impact of cyber security breaches.
