FSK20119 - Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways
This course is for students who want to return to the workforce or study, increase their skill in workplace communication or are looking to change careers and would like to develop a career plan.
Students will learn about how to learn, workplace communication skills and how to plan for a career. The students in this program can negotiate the electives from CIT statement of attainments or Skill Sets as part of their career plan.
The program can be tailored and delivered for special interest groups.
The qualification is suitable for individuals who require:
· a pathway to employment or further vocational training
· reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3
· entry level digital literacy and employability skills
· a vocational training and employment plan.

The duration of this course is approximately 6 months studying full time or 12 months part-time. The time to complete the course may vary depending on subjects enrolled into and the number of classes attended.
Fulltime is approximately 4 days per week to complete the core units, electives will vary and will be timetabled across CIT’s colleges.
Students enrolled into support classes can expect to attend 1 to 2 hours per week face-to-face training on top of their vocational program of study as well as online activities |

Delivery for this course is blended; face to face and online.
For Skilled Capital students, Apprentices and Trainees; on completion of the Language Literacy and Numeracy quiz (LLN Robot) a student might be identified as requiring extra LLND support which requires the student to enrol into this program.
There are no additional fees charged to students studying as an ACT Australian Apprentice/Trainee or enrolled as an ACT Skilled Capital student when enrolling into this program.

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with a lower level program, or enrol in the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (FSK20119) to develop your literacy skills. Description: | This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies.
