Australian Apprentice Concessions

Find out how to receive a reduction on your fees!

Have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card?

Australian Apprentices with a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran's Gold Card are entitled to receive a 50% fee reduction on eligible courses.

If you are under 18 and your parents hold one of the above cards, you will also be eligible to receive a 50% fee reduction if you are listed as a dependent.

To have a concession applied to your student account, you must:

  • Show your current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran's Gold Card at any CIT Student Services. *

AND

  • Request that your concession be applied to your account BEFORE all outstanding fees have been paid.
*Alternatively - submit electronically from the "Express Plus Centrelink" app you can provide a screenshot of your "Digital Wallet" Health Care Card and email it as an attachment to infoline@cit.edu.au.

If you have a physical Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, you can take a photo and attach it in an email to infoline@cit.edu.au.

Don't have a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card?

Australian Apprentices who don't have a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran's Gold Card, may still be eligible for a concession. You can provide evidence (in the form of payslips) demonstrating you are a low income earner or apply for financial hardship circumstances.

Complete and submit online - the CIT Australian Apprentice Income Online Form or print and complete CIT Apprentice & Skilled Capital Students Concession/Hardship Checklist (PDF 135Kb) and submit via email to infoline@cit.edu.au.

Health Care Card Benefits: As an Australian Apprentice you may be eligible to receive a health care card and are encouraged to obtain one. In addition to a reduction in fees, this card provides other useful benefits (including medical discounts). For any assistance in applying for a health care card, contact CITSA or Centrelink.

Even if you earn above the income limits listed on the CIT Australian Apprentice Income Threshold Form you can still speak to CITSA and they can apply for a concession on the grounds of financial hardship. Speak to either CITSA on (02) 6207 3600 or CIT Student Services on (02) 6207 3188.

Concessions do not apply to: Excursion fees and other resourcing fees, purchase of projects, printing or photocopying charges and CIT Card replacement fee.
