Overview

Statement of Attainment in Accounting Fundamentals is a basic introduction to accounting. This course is suitable for school leavers or those new to accounting. The skills and knowledge acquired in this course could be used across many industries including hospitality, retail, business, or wherever simple financial transactions are required. You will use Xero accounting software, create, and use spreadsheets, reconcile accounts, run reports, and gain other skills that are pivotal in a range of industries.

The course includes:

  • Accounting fundamentals that are essential for roles such as Bookkeeper or Accounts Administrator
  • Practical experience using workplace documents and case studies to develop skills you can apply to your role in the workplace.
  • Accounting software and Microsoft 365
  • Communication skills and industry legislation

This qualification includes subjects that contribute to a pathway to Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping. Leading into the Diploma of Accounting and the Advanced Diploma of Accounting. Lower-level qualifications or equivalent skills and knowledge are recommended for successful completion of higher-level courses.

Students MUST enrol in subjects FNSACC322 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports AND FNSACC321 Administer accounts and ledgers AND BSBTEC302 Maintain business records TOGETHER IF studying part time or flex.

      Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop spreadsheets through the use of spreadsheet applications.The unit applies to individuals employed in a range of environments who tend to be personally responsible for designing and working with spreadsheets under minimal supervision.       Description: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare and process routine financial documents, prepare journal entries, post journal entries to ledgers, prepare banking and reconcile financial receipts, and extract a trial balance and interim reports.The unit applies to individuals who follow agreed processes to carefully check and process detailed financial information to ensure standards are maintained.Work functions in the occupational areas where this unit may be used are subject to regulatory requirements.
