Skills Recognition via Credit Transfer

Skills Recognition at CIT is Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior learning (RPL). For more information on applying for RPL, visit the RPL page.

Am I eligible?

If you have previously studied with an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) you will have results on an official transcript/record of results and/or on your USI digital transcript. These results will have a course name, national code and then a list of the units of competency/subjects with name and national codes.

Results gained after 2015 should be recorded on your Unique Student Identifier (USI) record at http://usi.gov.au/. All results prior to 2015 will be recorded on an official transcript/record of results from the RTO you studied with.

When you have identified the course you want to obtain credit in you will need to check on  Training.gov.au to see if any of the units of competency/subjects you hold are part of the course or if any of you units of competency/subjects are equivalent to those in the course.  If yes you are eligible for Credit Transfer.

Eligible credit transfers for subjects previously completed at CIT are automatically applied when you enrol into a new course at CIT.

What do I need to provide?

A certified copy of your official transcript/record of results from an Australian RTO (ensure you have positive results against the units of competency/subjects you are using as evidence).

Results gained after 2015 should be recorded on your Unique Student Identifier (USI) record at http://usi.gov.au/. All results prior to 2015 will be recorded on an official transcript/record of results from the RTO you studied with.

Or

Provide a copy of your USI transcript and give permission for CIT to view your USI results on the USI site (this can be done on the USI website at usi.gov.au).
