Bert Evans Apprentice Scholarships

Value:  Currently $5,000 per year, for up to 3 years

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be:

• first-year apprentices approved in NSW, including school-based apprentices (trainees, including school-based trainees, are not eligible)
• experiencing financial and/or personal hardship
• an Australian citizen or permanent resident
• employed by an employer based in NSW.

How to apply: Applications are submitted via an online application portal. You will also be required to provide supporting documents to demonstrate meeting the eligibility and assessment criteria.

BizCover Tools of the Trade Grant

Value: $1,000 each

Application Closing Date: Wednesday 31 March 2027

Number Available: 12 each year (1 per month)

Eligibility Criteria: The program supports people who are completing a trade and need tools to complete their apprenticeship or traineeship. The program supports a wide range of industries including, but not limited to, construction, electrical, plumbing, automotive, hospitality, and other skilled trades.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. be studying through either TAFE or a registered private training provider (RTO)
2. be currently undertaking training for a trade in Australia
3. be an Australian resident or eligible to work in Australia
4. be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.

Applicants must submit an online application through the BizCover website.

3. proof of course enrolment
4. details about the applicant’s trade
5. a short paragraph explaining why the tools are needed and how the grant would help their training or career.

Brighte Pathways: Women in Sustainable Energy Scholarship

Value: $2,250.00

Number Available: To be communicated

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for a Scholarship, applicants must:

• be Australian citizens or have permanent Australian resident status
• be enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the CIT qualifications starting in 2026
• be ACT residents
• agree to participate in outreach activities as an ambassador of the CIT renewable and future energy program for the duration of the scholarship
• not hold any other scholarship valued more than $500 in total at the time of application
• provide evidence of:
  1. a commitment to study; and
  2. commitment to the renewable energy and/or the sustainability industries.

Financial support for apprentices

Details: As an Australian Apprentice, you may be eligible for financial and non-financial support from the Australian Government and your State or Territory Government.

Fully funded renewable energy scholarships for ACT electricians

Value: full funding for one or two courses

Application Closing Date: Monday 27 July 2026

Eligibility criteria: Scholarships are available for licensed electricians working in the ACT who are looking to upskill in solar PV and battery storage systems.

Choose from two fully funded CIT courses:

• Statement of Attainment Designer-Installer Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems (selected Friday evenings and Saturdays from 7 August to 18 September 2026)
• Statement of Attainment Grid-connected Battery Storage Systems Designer-Installer Skill Set (UEESS00191) (selected Friday evenings and Saturdays from 23 October to 21 November 2026).

You may apply for scholarship funding for one or both courses.

If you have previously completed units, scholarship funding will be applied to the remaining units needed to achieve the qualification.

• Click the Apply Now button
• Choose Special Admissions as your Application Method.
• Once you have completed the online form, your application will be reviewed by the Electrotechnology Department, who will contact you about eligibility and how to enrol.

GPG Women in Renewables Scholarships

Value: $3,300.00

Number Available: Twelve

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for a Scholarship, applicants must:

• be Australian citizens or have permanent Australian resident status
• be living and/or working in the ACT
• be female students 17 years or older (Mature aged female students are encouraged to apply)
• be enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the eligible CIT qualifications starting in either Semester 1 or 2
• complete and submit the application form provided by CIT
• not hold any other scholarship valued more than $500 in total at the time of application
• provide evidence of:
  1. a commitment to study; and
  2. commitment to the renewable energy and/or the sustainability industries
• be committed to participate in outreach activities as an ambassador of the CIT renewable and future energy program for the duration of the scholarship.

Applicants must submit the GPG CIT Scholarship Application Form in full, along with any requested supporting documentation to Canberra Institute of Technology by the advertised closing date.
