The Brighte Pathways: Women in Sustainable Energy Scholarship supports the personal and professional development of women in trades, helping them to embark on or further their experience and career development in the renewable energy disciplines.
This scholarship is aimed at attracting women to trade professions in the renewable energy sector. While priority will be given to those entering the sector, the scholarship can also be awarded to women already in the sector.
Scholarship details
In 2025, three scholarships, each valued at $2,250, will be awarded to female students studying full or part-time, enrolling or intending to enrol in any of the following courses:
- Certificate III in Automotive Electric Vehicle Technology AUR32721
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician UEE30820
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration UEE32220
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications UEE30920
Scholarships recipients will demonstrate a strong commitment to study and to the environment. The scholarship will enable the women undertaking trades courses to purchase recommended equipment for the studies or pay for their CIT tuition fees. In addition to the scholarship, Brighte will commit to fund the Solar Accreditation Australia costs after the successful course completion.

Applicants must submit the Brighte CIT Scholarship Application Form 2025 in full, along with any required supporting documentation to Canberra Institute of Technology by the advertised closing date.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for a Scholarship, applicants must:
- be Australian citizens or have permanent Australian resident status.
- be enrolled or intending to enrol in one of the CIT qualifications starting in Semester 2, 2025.
- be ACT residents.
- be committed to complete the nominated qualification at CIT before the end of Semester 1, 2028.
- agree to participate in outreach activities as an ambassador of the CIT renewable and future energy program for the duration of the scholarship.
- not hold any other scholarship valued more than $500 in total at the time of application.
- provide evidence of:
- a commitment to study; and
- commitment to the renewable energy and/or the sustainability industries.
