Accommodation at CIT

Your new home, away from home

Whether your moving interstate or from overseas, we aim to make your transition into your new CIT study life as seamless as possible. Located in the northside of Canberra 15 minutes from Canberra’s city centre is our on-campus accommodation, the CIT Bruce Residence. The residence is a 3-minute walk from the CIT Bruce campus, canteen, library, gym and CIT International team. With a quick bus ride to Westfield shopping centre, Lake Ginninderra and various leisure and entertainment clubs, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to experience life in Canberra. The residence is also just a short walk from to cafes, restaurants, the Australian institute of sport and GIO Stadium.

Facilities

Set in a peaceful semi-bush environment the CIT Bruce Residence offers comfortable, fully furnished single-bedroom accommodation, each equipped with a single bed, built-in wardrobe, full-length mirror, large study desk, study chair, bed lamp and small refrigerator.

Residents can access Wireless Internet (WiFi) in their room and the common areas.

Residents have access to shared facilities including bathrooms, laundry, a fully equipped kitchen, recreational room with television, courtyard, barbeque area and limited car park spaces.

Students are required to bring their own bed linen, blankets, pillows, towels, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, cleaning products, toiletries such as soap, shampoo and hair dryer, and food. An oil heater can be provided upon request.

Accommodation costs

Student accommodation is offered at an affordable rate of $210 AUD per week for a private single room, with electricity, water and heating included in the fee. A bond of $840 AUD and a one-time placement fee of $150 must be paid when signing the contract. The bond is refundable upon departure, provided the room is clean, undamaged and all fees are settles. Rent can be paid in advance for the full term or through arranged fortnightly payments. If you stay during the term break, the usual weekly rent will still apply.

Homestay

A homestay is a great way to experience your first visit to the National Capital. Living with a Canberra family offers a welcoming environment where you can concentrate on your studies and provides a stable base for your new life in Canberra.

Rent or share

Students also have the option to independently rent their own property in Canberra or live in share accommodation with other people/students.
