Microsoft Office 365 for Students

All enrolled students have a CIT Microsoft Office 365 account unless your course is shorter than one day.

You do need to activate your account before it can be used.

Through your Microsoft 365 account, you can:

  • Access learning materials through eLearn
  • Use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Log on to CIT Computers
  • View your timetable through TimeEdit
  • Easily logon to CIT Self Service and My CIT
  • Print from CIT printers
  • Connect to Wi-Fi on campus
  • Access your student email address

Log in to your Microsoft 365 account

Your email address is CITXXXXXX@students.cit.edu.au (CITXXXXXX is your CIT number).

Activating your CIT Microsoft 365 account

To use your CIT Microsoft 365 account, you must activate it.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive an email from CIT Account Service with information to set your password and activate your account.

If you can’t see the email:

  • Check your junk emails
  • Check your email address and mobile number in CIT Self Service is correct

If you are still unable to locate the email, you can activate your account by following the steps below.

  1. Head to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
  2. Enter your student email address in the email or username field
    1. Your email address is CITXXXXXX@students.cit.edu.au (CITXXXXXX is your CIT number)
  3. Select “I’ve forgotten my password” and click on “Next”
  4. Select "Email my Alternative email address" and click on Email (this is the email address CIT has on record for you)
  5. Access your personal email account to get the verification code.
  6. Enter the verification code in the box provided and click “Next”
  7. In the next screen enter your mobile number and click “Text” to receive a verification code to your mobile.
  8. Enter the verification code in the box provided and click “Next”
  9. Enter and confirm a new password.

How long do I have access to my CIT Student Microsoft 365 account?

All students will only have access to their CIT Student Microsoft Office 365 account while they are a current student studying at CIT.

Accounts will be deleted 120 days after completing studies at CIT - from when the final subject is completed for the semester.

To ensure no important information is lost – please ensure you save any files onto a USB or other storage device within 90 days of completing your study.
