End of Trip Facilities Guidelines

1. Purpose

These guidelines define access and acceptable use of the end of trip facilities for CIT Woden.

2. Scope

These guidelines address access to the end of trip facilities and usage of the bike racks, scooter racks and change room facilities.

These guidelines do not address usage of the lockers in the end of trip facilities. Refer to the Staff Locker Guidelines and Student Locker Guidelines for guidance on the usage of lockers.

3. Principles

Access and Availability

  1. End of Trip Facilities are provided for the convenience of staff and students of CIT that commute to the Woden campus by active travel.
  2. Staff and students that want to use end of trip facilities must complete an end of trip induction and submit an access request form before access to end of trip facilities will be added to their CIT access card.
  3. The bike cage is in the basement.
  4. Staff change rooms are in the basement.
  5. Student change rooms are on level 2.
  6. Access to the end of trip facilities is via the ground floor end of trip lobby in block C only.
    • Bikes, scooters, equipment and clothing used for active travel must not be brought in through any other entrance.
    • Bikes, scooters, equipment and clothing used for active travel must not be brought into teaching spaces, student commons or staff workspaces.
    • Bikes and scooters must be stored in the bike cage in the basement.
    • Equipment and clothing should be stored in an end-of-trip locker, either in the basement change rooms (staff) or the level 2 change rooms (students).
    • The Facilities Management team may remove any bikes and scooters not stored in the bike cage.
  7. Bikes and scooters must be taken in the end of trip lift in block C only to travel between the ground floor end of trip lobby and the bike cage in the basement.
    • There is no ramp access from the ground floor end of trip lobby to the basement.
    • There is no pedestrian access to the basement via the car park vehicle ramp.
  8. External entry to the end of trip lobby is access controlled. Staff and students must swipe their CIT access card to open the door.
  9. Access to the basement is access controlled. Staff and students must swipe their CIT access card to use the lift to go to the basement.
  10. Access to the bike cage is access controlled. Staff and students must swipe their CIT access card to open the door.
  11. Access to the basement change rooms is access controlled and restricted to staff. Staff must swipe their CIT access card to open the door.
  12. Access to the level 2 student change rooms is access controlled and restricted to students. Students must swipe their CIT access card to open the door.
  13. There are a limited number of bike rack and scooter rack spaces available. Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  14. Staff and students must exercise due care when traversing the basement between the lift and the end of trip facilities.
    • Be aware of any moving vehicles.
    • Take care not to scratch or otherwise damage any parked vehicles.

Bike Rack and Scooter Rack Usage

  1. Bike and scooter racks are provided for commuter purposes only. Long term storage is not permitted.
  2. Bikes and scooters must be stored in the racks provided. Access routes and doors must be kept clear.
  3. Any abandoned bikes or scooters will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996. This includes any costs or damage associated with replacing or removing a bike lock.
  4. Some rack spaces are available for electric scooters and electric bikes and are fitted with a charge point.
    • Staff and students can use a charge point to charge their scooter.
    • Staff and students are responsible for bringing the charging cord required for their scooter or bike.
    • Use of the charge point is free of charge.

Basement Staff Change Room Usage

  1. Basement change room access is restricted to CIT staff.
  2. Change room facilities include:
    • Showers
    • Toilets
    • Bench seat
    • Grooming stations with basin, mirror, hair dryer, etc.
    • Ironing station with ironing board and iron
    • Lockers
  3. A towel service is provided so that staff do not need to store a wet towel in their locker. Used towels must be placed in the towel collection bag.
  4. The iron, hair dryers and towels must not be removed from the change rooms.
  5. Any abandoned items in the change rooms will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996.
  6. Users of the change rooms can submit cleaning issues or maintenance required via the SCS Cleaning Request Form or scanning the QR Code in Change Rooms.

Level 2 Student Change Room Usage

  1. Level 2 change room access is restricted to CIT students.
  2. Change room facilities include:
    • Showers
    • Toilets
    • Bench seat
    • Grooming stations with basin, mirror, hair dryer, etc.
    • Ironing stations with ironing boards and irons
    • Lockers
  3. The irons and hair dryers must not be removed from the change rooms.
  4. Any abandoned items in the change rooms will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996.
  5. Users of the change rooms can submit cleaning issues or maintenance required via the SCS Cleaning Request Form or scanning the QR Code in Change Rooms.

End of Trip Facilities Maintenance

  1. Facilities Management reserves the right to schedule bike cage cleaning with advance notice to staff and students.
    • Staff and students will be requested to remove their bikes, scooters and any personal belongings from the bike cage on a designated date.
    • Any abandoned items will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996.
    • Cleaners will perform cleaning of the bike cage on the designated date.
    • After cleaning has been completed, staff and students can return their bikes and scooters to the bike cage.
  2. Facilities Management reserves the right to schedule deep cleaning for basement change rooms with advance notice to staff.
    • Staff will be requested to remove their personal belongings from the change rooms to allow cleaning on a designated date.
    • Any abandoned items will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996.
    • Cleaners will perform deep cleaning on the designated date.
    • After cleaning has been completed, staff can return their personal belongings to the change rooms.
    • Facilities Management reserves the right to schedule deep cleaning for level 2 change rooms with advance notice to students.
    • Students will be requested to remove their personal belongings from the change rooms to allow cleaning on a designated date.
    • Any abandoned items will be dealt with in accordance with the Uncollected Goods Act 1996.
    • Cleaners will perform deep cleaning on the designated date.
    • After cleaning has been completed, students can return their personal belongings to the change rooms.

4. End of Trip Facilities

CCTV monitoring is in operation in the end of trip lobby, lifts, basement and bike cage. There is no CCTV inside change rooms.

Staff, students and visitors use the end of trip facilities at their own risk and must follow these End of Trip Facilities Guidelines. Subject to rights under the Australian Consumer Law, CIT is not liable for personal injury, theft, damage, or loss of property within the end of trip facilities.
