Change Room Procedures

Associated Policy

These Change Room Procedures have been developed in conjunction with the End of Trip Facilities Guidelines.

Purpose

This document provides practices and acceptable use for the change rooms at CIT Woden.

Responsibilities

Staff and students enter and use the change room at their own risk. Subject to rights under the Australian Consumer Law, CIT is not liable for personal injury, theft, damage, or loss of property.

Staff and Students using the Change Rooms

All staff using the basement change rooms will:

  • Keep the change rooms neat and tidy
  • Respect others using the change rooms
  • Share resources

All students using the level 2 change rooms will:

  • Keep the change rooms neat and tidy
  • Respect others using the change rooms
  • Share resources

Users of the change rooms can submit cleaning issues or maintenance required via the SCS Cleaning Request Form or scanning the QR Code in Change Rooms.

Facilities Management

The CIT Facilities Management team will:

  • Manage the contracted towel service (CIT Staff only)
  • Ensure the change rooms are cleaned and kept in working order

Keep Change Rooms Neat and Tidy

  1. Store personal belongings in a locker or take them with you.
    • Do not leave toiletries, clothes or other belongings in the shower cubicle, toilet cubicle, at the grooming station, etc.
    • Do not leave clothes or other belongings on the floor or bench seat.
    • Do not hang towels, clothes or other belongings on the outside of lockers.
  2. Clean towels are provided for use by CIT Staff only.
    • Clean towels are available from the storage cupboard in the basement bike cage.
    • Place used towels in the towel collection bag in the change rooms.
    • Do not use towels from the towel service for the removal of makeup, spray tan, hair dye, etc. as these can permanently stain the towel. CIT will be charged a replacement fee for any towels that are permanently damaged.
  3. To use the shower, push the button.
    • The water will run for a period of up to 30 seconds* (-10/+5 seconds)
    • *Indicative only.
  4. To use the ironing board, release the locking bar and unfold the ironing board.
    • Ensure the iron is turned off after use.
    • After using the ironing board, fold it away, replace the locking bar and close the cupboard door.
  5. After using the hair dryer, return it to the storage holster.
    • Ensure the hair dryer is turned off after use.

Respect Others

  1. Respect the privacy and personal space of other people using the change rooms.
  2. Recording devices, cameras, mobile phones, tripods, etc. must not be used in the change rooms.
  3. Do not bully or harass other people using the change rooms.
  4. If you feel unsafe because of bullying or harassment, activate the duress alarm for intervention by a security guard.

Share Resources

  1. Limit your personal belongings to the 1 locker you are using. If you are not using a locker, take your personal belongings with you.
  2. Keep your shower time short.
  3. Contain your grooming to one grooming station.
  4. Do not remove the iron or hair dryers from the change room.
  5. If you stop using the end of trip facilities (e.g. you no longer ride to work), remove your personal belongings from your locker. Long term storage is not permitted.

Manage Contracted Towel Service (CIT Staff only)

  1. Ensure services are provided in accordance with the contract.
  2. Ensure currency of the contract is maintained and renewal is completed on time.

Facilities Management

  1. Ensure the change rooms are cleaned regularly and to the required standard.
  2. Respond to requests for repairs and maintenance raised for the change rooms.
