This course is designed for professionals with existing automotive technology experience and is ideal for those in mechanical or electrical technical roles who are ready to upskill in BEV technology. You’ll gain the expertise to inspect, service and maintain BEV systems.

This course consists of one delivery mode for the students. This mode has been developed in conjunction with the local automotive industry. Delivery is over 4 days (32 hours) (approximately 8 hours per day) with pre-learning (16 hours) of activities completed prior to attending the training. |

Additional Information
You will need to wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment when in the automotive workshops, including:
- hearing protection
- eye protection (Clear Safety Glasses)
- leather safety boots EH (Electrical Hazard Rated)
- work shirt and pants.
You will be required to bring your own laptop or tablet to each class to support access to learning material.
As per Australian Standards AS532:2022, students with a pacemaker or other medical device susceptible to magnetic interference shall not perform work on PEVs, HEVs, BEVs, PHEVs or FCEVs that contain powerful magnets capable of affecting those devices.
Entry Requirements
This skill set is limited to those who have completed one of the following qualifications:
- AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
- AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent. (Graduates of the EWP stream must have completed AURETR129 Diagnose and repair charging systems and AURETR130 Diagnose and repair starting systems).
Skills Recognition
To study any course at CIT (excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with the lower level course. Please visit Foundation Skills.
