Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Overview: This course equips you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide mental health first aid to adults who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. It explores practical, evidence-based strategies to recognise, understand and respond to mental health challenges in friends, family members, co-workers or other adults, and how to offer initial support until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Upon completion of the course, you will become a Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider). You will also have the option to complete a short accreditation assessment to become an Accredited MHFAider, with accreditation valid for 3 years.

Duration: 14 hours of training delivered as a two-day training workshop.
Fees: $445
Location: CIT Bruce – 35 Vowels Crescent, Bruce  
Time: Classes are hosted from 9:30am-4:30pm. All potential participants MUST be able to attend both days of the training.

      This course equips you with the skills to provide mental health first aid to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals who may be developing a mental health issue or experiencing a mental health crisis. It explores culturally appropriate approaches to social and emotional wellbeing, mental health challenges and first aid strategies tailored for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
      Duration
      14 hours of training delivered as a two-day training workshop.

      Costs are to be confirmed. Please note that all payments must be made via the online booking process, which will be sent to you upon your enquiry. Payment must be made before commencing the course.
