The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Refresher course is designed for people who are already accredited Mental Health First Aiders and want to keep their knowledge, skills and confidence up to date.

This course revisits key mental health concepts and the Mental Health First Aid action plan, while incorporating current information about mental health, crisis response and support pathways. You’ll have the opportunity to refresh your understanding of common mental health problems and strengthen your ability to respond effectively when someone needs support.

Completing a refresher course is an essential part of maintaining your Mental Health First Aid accreditation and continuing to provide safe, evidence-based support to others.

Eligibility and entry requirements

To enrol in this course, you must be aged 18 years or older, and be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • a New Zealand citizen
  • the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.
