Overview

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) equips you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis.

In this practical, evidence-based course developed by Mental Health First Aid Australia, you’ll learn how to offer initial support to an adult who may be developing a mental health issue, experiencing a decline in their mental health, or in a crisis situation. Using a clear, structured action plan, you’ll gain the confidence to start supportive conversations and guide someone towards appropriate professional help or services.

This nationally recognised training is offered in two delivery modes to suit different learning preferences. Participants can choose to attend the face-to-face course, delivered over two full days (6 hours per day), or the blended delivery, which includes 5–7 hours of self paced online learning followed by two facilitated virtual sessions of 2.5 hours each (available upon request).

Suitable for individuals, workplaces and community settings, this course focuses on real world skills you can use straight away.

Blended delivery is available on request. Please contact mhfa@cit.edu.au for more information.

This is a non-accredited short course.
