CIT is seeking industry-experienced tradespeople from a diverse range of fields to join us in shaping the tradies of the future.

As a CIT teacher, you will benefit from flexible working conditions and have the opportunity train the next generation of tradies, passing on your extensive industry experience and industry knowledge to students eager learn from your expertise.

Who are we looking for?

CIT is looking for industry-experienced teachers with:

  • relevant formal vocational qualifications (relevant trade qualification or equivalent minimum, Australian equivalent), and
  • a broad range of current industry skills and experience.

To become a CIT teacher, you must also hold a current qualification in training and assessment or enterprise training.

If you don't hold a qualification in training and assessment, don't worry! CIT is committed to training new teachers in the Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40122, the nationally recognised qualification to teach in the vocational education and training sector. This qualification is offered fee-free to CIT teaching staff with classes scheduled at a time that fits within your working hours so that you can earn while you learn.

What type of positions are available?

Full-time, part-time and casual positions are available in a range of industry areas. You can also continue to work in your trade area and teach as little as one day or session per week.
