Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Enrolled Nursing Scholarships

The value of each scholarship will be dependent upon the fees associated with the course of study, administration costs, and the purchase of the recommended textbooks.

Number Available: 2 per year, February and July each year

Eligibility Criteria:

  • candidates will have been offered a place in the Diploma of Nursing at the CIT and accepted enrolment
  • confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity
  • submission of a completed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Enrolled Nursing Scholarship Application form.

Australian Seniors Aged Care Futures Grant

Value: $5,000

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible students must be:

  1. enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and be studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:
    • Aged Care
    • Aged Care Nursing
    • Dementia Care
    • Disabilities Care
    • Any other courses leading to similar careers as an aged carer
  2. Only citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply.
  3. You must have reached 18 years of age or older to enter.
  4. Employees of Australian Seniors Insurance Agency and of Greenstone Financial Services (GFS) and their immediate family members (including the spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, guardian, child or sibling ("Immediate Family Members")) are ineligible to enter as an applicant for the Grant.

Diploma of Nursing Rural Travel Scholarship Incentive

Eligibility Criteria:

Diploma of Nursing Travel Support Incentive Applicants must:

Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and a resident of NSW. Live in a location classified as Modified Monash Model 3 or above (MM3-MM7) and live more than 100km from the Registered Training Organisation offering the Diploma of Nursing. Be enrolled in a Diploma of Nursing course accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Not have previously received the Diploma of Nursing Rural Travel Support Incentive. Be able to provide evidence of enrolment in an accredited Diploma of Nursing course.

Rural Allied Health Assistant Scholarship

Value: $3,000

Eligibility Criteria:

Allied Health Assistant Scholarship Applicants must:

Be current NSW Health employees with non-clinical or clinical roles or individuals interested in working for NSW Health in a rural setting with intention to work as an Allied Health Assistant or Pharmacy Assistant. Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and a resident of NSW. Have resided in a rural or remote area in NSW for a minimum of five consecutive or eight cumulative years since the age of five. Be seeking to enrol in a full qualification from the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (HLT43021) or the Certificate IV Hospital Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT47121) or single units delivered by TAFE NSW. Demonstrate a desire to contribute to the future of health in rural and regional NSW. Agree to work under the supervision of an allied health professional(s) in one or more of the following allied health areas: occupational therapy, podiatry, physiotherapy, social work, pharmacy, radiography, dietetics, audiology, speech pathology, recreation therapy, exercise therapy
