Snow Scholarships

General Scholarships

Snow Foundation is a family philanthropic organisation deeply connected to Canberra and the NSW South Coast. Founded by brothers Terry and George Snow, the Foundation believes in giving to the communities in which they live and work.

From the beginning, Snow Foundation has supported people facing barriers – especially youth, women, LGBTIQ+ and First Nations people. The Snow Scholarship reflects this commitment, empowering youth, backing their potential, and supporting individuals who want to make a difference in the world around them.

Thinking of starting an undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra in 2027? The Snow Scholarship is one of Australia’s most generous and transformative undergraduate programs, designed to support students in Canberra and regional or rural NSW commencing an undergraduate degree who face barriers to higher education.

Value:  Each Snow Scholarship is valued at up to $30,000 per year, providing residential, academic and wellbeing support to help you focus on your future:

  • on-campus accommodation for 52 weeks each year (valued at approx. $15,000)
  • an annual stipend of approximately $10,000 to help with everyday living costs like food and personal expenses
  • travel and relocation support, including assistance with family visits and unexpected needs
  • support purchasing essential supplies for study
  • tutoring and academic support, provided on top of your regular course
  • health and wellbeing services, including GP visits, psychological counselling, and a gym or sporting membership
  • skill-building programs, including mental health first aid training, financial literacy, cultural awareness training, and support to help you land your first job.

Number Available: Up to 16 scholarships may be offered each year. To help build a balanced and inclusive cohort, we will continue to uphold our commitment to gender equity while also aiming to include: approximately a quarter of places to support First Nations scholars, and approximately a quarter of places to support applicants with outstanding academic achievement.
