High Risk Licences Short Courses

Thank you for choosing CIT as your high risk work (HRW) licensing training provider. We offer a suite of high risk training programs for you or your staff delivered under nationally recognised units of competency. Successful completion will allow you to apply for a HRW licence from Worksafe ACT (CIT does not issue this licence). Group bookings welcome, please enquire below.

Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, workers must not carry out specified classes of high risk work unless they hold a HRW licence or they are formally enrolled with a registered training organisation (RTO) and undergoing supervised training towards gaining a competency. All HRW licences must be renewed every five years. Please see the Worksafe ACT website for licensing requirements, guidelines and registrations

How to get a high risk work licence:

1.Register with us:

Browse our training suite below and select the course you wish to register for. Complete the contact form and our friendly CIT team will be in touch to confirm your place and assist you to enrol.

Dates listed are subject to change according to course demand; registered applicants will be notified accordingly.

This registration does not act as an enrolment; this is an expression of interest which will allow our team to contact you with confirmed training dates and enrolment information.

2.Check your eligibility for Training Fund Authority (TFA) rebates:

The ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority (the Authority) is the statutory body responsible for providing funding for the training of eligible workers in the ACT building and construction industry.

CIT offers a Reduced "TFA fee" on all approved Courses for persons that are deemed eligible in accordance with TFA guidelines.

If you feel you are eligible for the reduced fee, please advise our administration staff and we will supply you with a CIT TFA Declaration of Eligibility form to complete and return with your enrolment forms.

We will then apply for the rebate on your behalf and only charge you the reduced fee. You do not need to apply through the TFA website

For more information on TFA Eligibility please visit their Website

If you are in doubt in regards to your eligibility please contact TFA directly on (02) 6262 5630

3.Complete our training and apply for a licence:

It is important to note that CIT does not Issue High Risk Licences, CIT is an Registered Training Organisation that delivers the training you are required to complete before applying for a High Risk Licence.

Upon successful completion of your training at CIT you will receive a Statement of Attainment for your accredited course or unit of competency.
