Overview

This course is an assessment only, mandatory requirement of a Class A, B or C Building Licence application in the ACT. Applicants are required to sit a written assessment, set by the Construction Occupations Registrar, confirming the applicant’s knowledge of the regulatory requirements for building and construction work in the ACT.
The assessment will be invigilated by the Canberra Institute of Technology on behalf of the ACT Construction Occupations Registrar.
This course is for suitably experienced building practitioners who have completed recognised building qualifications and can demonstrate a minimum of two years of fulltime building work experience, including at least one year of fulltime experience undertaken after the issue of their building qualification. It is designed for applicants who are progressing toward a Class A, B or C Building Licence and are required to formally demonstrate their understanding of the ACT regulatory environment as part of the licensing process.

This course meets the mandatory assessment requirement to obtain a building licence in the ACT, only building practitioners applying for a Class A, B or C building licence are eligible to undertake this course.

To enrol in this course you must provide photographic proof of identity such as an Australian drivers licence, passport or other government issued identification. This must be photographic proof of identity and presented to the examiner before the assessment begins.
