This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to administer and manage information and communications technology (ICT) support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of general ICT technologies.

Duration: This qualification can be completed in one (1) semester (approx. 35 hours per week) full-time, or part-time equivalent, of intensive delivery plus an average of approximately 10 hours per week for project work and private study to practise skills and apply new knowledge.

The 2020 Semester 1 enrolment fees for this course are based on the costs per subject as indicated below. The total program cost may vary depending on the choice of elective subjects or if subjects are attempted more than once.

Subject costs identified as Standard are partially subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible students.

Costs identified as Apprentice or Trainee apply only to students studying as part of an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement. The qualification cost for an Apprentice or Trainee is subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible Apprentices or Trainees.

Costs identified as Full Fee receive no government subsidy. Concessions are not available.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, it is assumed that you have:
• Completed the Certificate IV in Information Technology or other relevant qualification, or units equivalent to the core of the Certificate IV; or
• Demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments using IT networking technologies relevant to the your chosen pathway , specifically:
- Working with the intermediate functions of the current version of Windows Server such as DHCP, DNS, NPS, VPN and IPsec;
- Manipulating databases using SQL; applying basic programming skills to create applications; creating markup language documents (HTML) and cascading style sheets (CSS);
- Applying design methodologies and present feasibility reports.

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Completion of this qualification may provide you with credit towards a Bachelor degree in a related program.
