Media Short Courses
CIT's dynamic media and film courses will give you everything you need to enter the fields of screen and media, film, digital media or to enhance your existing skills in professional communications or journalism.
In these short courses you will learn using industry-standard software and equipment in custom-built facilities including a Mac computer lab and TV studio. You will learn from highly respected and experienced teachers with strong networks in the local media and communications industry, and you will enjoy a high degree of practical experience as well as theory.
This training will provide the skills and knowledge required to prepare, set up and shoot a wide range of screen content using professional video equipment in a single-camera environment.
Approximately 6 hours of additional off-campus work will be required, online and practical. Such activity will include camerawork practise and online reading/research.
This training will give you the skills and knowledge required to perform basic editing functions for screen productions and to use non-linear digital facilities to edit screen content for fast turnaround.

This training will give you the skills and knowledge required to write content for a range of purposes and platforms such as content for websites, social media, or for announcements on radio and television.
This training will also aim to build your understanding of creativity, how creative people think, and how creativity has been applied throughout history. It aims to provide individuals with inspiration and ideas to take into their own work and lives.
This course is self-paced.
Approximately 4 hours of additional work per week will be required, online and practical. Such work will include writing exercises, assignments and online reading/research.
