Soroptimist International scholarships 2021

In 2021 Soroptimist International offered scholarships to migrant or refugee Canberra women studying at CIT who showed strong leadership ability, community involvement and a keen focus on their skills and career development.

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement, that works together to transform the lives of women and girls. With about 72,000 club members in 121 countries, Soroptimist works at local, national and international levels to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls.

Recipients of these scholarships in 2021 included:

• Ms Phetsavong, studying a Certificate III in Hairdressing (SHB30416).
• Ms Mireshghi studying Laboratory Techniques (MSL40118).

President of Soroptimist International, Catherine Evans said: "Education is crucial for bringing opportunities and improvements to the lives of all women and girls and we are proud to assist women in the CIT community achieve their goals."
