Absence

Being absent from class means you are responsible for ensuring your learning and assessment requirements remain up to date.

  • If you miss a class, you are responsible for obtaining any notes, handouts, or learning materials provided during your absence.
  • If you unable to attend a scheduled in-class assessment, you must notify your educator as soon as possible and make arrangements for an alternative assessment time.
  • If you are absent from a practical placement, you must advise both the host organisation and the relevant CIT staff member as early as possible on the day of your absence.
  • If you are under 17 years of age, you must ring the CIT College in which you enrolled (for example, the Business, Pathways and Leadership College / Health, Community and Science College) to notify them of your absence from class.
