Asbestos Training

Asbestos Training

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skill for individuals to be able to identify a range of asbestos products and materials and be able to report the material to the relevant person.

Hosted at our designated asbestos training facility at CIT Bruce, you will be taught asbestos best practice in our purpose built simulated environment. Gain hands-on experience and knowledge under the guidance of industry experts including a former ACT safety commissioner, and become compliant with WorkSafe ACT asbestos removal regulations and requirements.

Recent amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011

ACT workers likely to encounter materials containing asbestos are required to complete the mandated 10675NAT - Course in Asbestos Awareness that came into effect in the ACT on 30 June 2014. Further to this, recent amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 mandate that people in occupations that are likely to work with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) must complete an approved training course in working safely with asbestos. Persons in an occupation specified in the list available here, are required to complete training in 10559NAT - Course in Working Safely with Asbestos Containing Materials. The amendments will commence on 1 July 2019.
