Overview

CIT is an exclusive provider of Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certified training in the ACT and surrounding regional NSW. Our state of the art high risk facility in conjunction with our Renewable Energy Centre of Excellence positions CIT as a national leader in wind safety training, upholding the GWO mission to support injury free working environments in the wind industry.

This 3-day training will offer you refresher safety training for those who have current GWO qualifications.

Basic Manual Handling - Global Wind Organisation (GWO) 4 hours
This refresher training will be run as a 3 -day workshop.

2018 - Enrolment fees for this course are based on the costs per subject as indicated below. In addition, a Service and Amenities fee of $40 will be payable each semester. Further information is available at Course fees and assistance.

2019 - New enrolment fee arrangements will be introduced. The $40 Services and Amenities fee will be included in the total subject costs. Indicative program cost may vary slightly and the subject costs displayed will also change. Further information is available at Course fees and assistance.

Likely Job Outcome: This refresher training provides basic safety awareness in the fields of first aid, manual handling, working at heights and fire awareness associated with wind turbines and wind power generation.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply

You must have completed CIT's non-accredited program: OCA-TS04 - Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

  • Literacy Skills Information

    • We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework levels of at least 2 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your program of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this program. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with a lower level program, or enrol in the Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways (FSK10213) to develop your literacy skills.   • Transition Information

    • Qualifications at CIT are regularly updated or replaced to meet current industry needs and maximise your employment opportunities. If this occurs while you are part way through a qualification, you may need to vary your learning to meet the new national requirements. CIT will aim to make this as smooth as possible for you.

CIT will make every effort to inform students as soon as changes are made and will also make every effort to offer alternative arrangements for students to meet the requirements of the subject and complete their qualification.       Description: The participants are able to demonstrate correct actions on discovering a fire including correct operation and fire extinguishing by means of the firefighting equipment in a wind turbine generator (WTG).

      Description: The participants are able to demonstrate understanding of the importance of carrying out work duties in a safe and sound manner in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location.

  •  Working at Heights Refresher - Global Wind Organisation (GWO)
    • CIT Code: RENW108
      Cost: $380.00
      Description: Students that have current GWO qualifications and wish to undertake a safety refresher training course.
      The participants are able to demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at heights, specific to a wind turbine generator (WTG).

  •  Basic First Aid Refresher - Global Wind Organisation (GWO)

      Cost: $255.00
      Description: Students that have current GWO qualifications and wish to undertake a safety refresher training course.
      The participants are able to demonstrate understanding of the importance of carrying out first aid in a safe manner in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location and according to European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
