Overview
This course equips you with the essential skills and knowledge to respond effectively to a wide range of emergency situations. You’ll learn how to provide immediate first aid care to a casualty, recognise and react to life-threatening emergencies and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) confidently and correctly.
Training is delivered in accordance with the most current first aid guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other leading national clinical bodies. Whether you’re preparing for a workplace requirement, volunteering role or simply want to be ready to help in everyday life, this course gives you the practical tools to act quickly and effectively in an emergency.
By completing this course, you’ll earn a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and gain the confidence to make a real difference.

Additional Information
Eight (8) hours of online study to be undertaken prior to face-to-face delivery, plus eight (8) hours face to face delivery (either delivered over one day or two evenings).
Entry Requirements
To be successful in this course, students should possess a solid foundation in computer literacy and demonstrate motivation and organisational skills to complete training and assessments.
Students may be encouraged to undertake Foundation Skills accredited and non-accredited training to support their learning and success in the course.
Skills Recognition
To study any course at CIT (excluding non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with the lower level course. Please visit Foundation Skills.
