Study Abroad with CIT
Want to take part in an exciting study abroad experience?
CIT's study abroad programs provide students with the opportunity to undertake a study or placement experience overseas that is related to their study qualification.
Short term overseas study programs are available to many CIT students giving you the opportunity to travel while you study and add a unique experience to your social, personal and career development.
These opportunities have been made possible with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education's VET Outbound Mobility Program, which funds short-term international study and work experience placements for in vocational education and training.
The below opportunities will be available to students enrolled in courses in 2016.
- 10 CREATIVE INDUSTRIES, INDIGENOUS ARTS STUDENTS/INDONESIA
Students will develop a body of work incorporating local cultural art practice in partnership with the Yogyakarta Institute of Arts.
- 10 HOSPITALITY STUDENTS/DUBAI
Advanced Diploma of International Hotel and Resort Management students will explore and learn at some of the world's leading hotels and resorts.
- 10 TOURISM STUDENTS/VIETNAM
Students will explore popular tourist trails and learn from the local tourism industry.
- 10 HORTICULTURE STUDENTS/NEW ZEALAND
Students will focus on leading edge sustainability and waste management practices in partnership with Lincoln University, Christchurch.
- 5 VETERINARY NURSING, 5 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION STUDENTS/THAILAND
For the first time building and construction students will have the opportunity join veterinary nursing students volunteering in the activities and development of the Chiang Mai Elephant Nature Park.
- 10 CULINARY STUDENTS/NEW ZEALAND
Students in post-apprenticeship studies will participate in the 'Wellington on a Plate' culinary festival; a showcase of the industry and regional produce to expand the students' culinary knowledge.
- 8 CULINARY STUDENTS/VIETNAM
Students in post-apprenticeship studies will have the opportunity to diversify their practice through an authentic local culinary experience and learning opportunity.
- 10 CREATIVE INDUSTRIES STUDENTS/CHINA
Continuing a partnership with the Beijing Institute of Fashion and Technology, where in 2015, students collaborated with the institute to contribute to an international design festival in Beijing.
- 8 FASHION DESIGN STUDENTS/CAMBODIA
Students will work with aid organisation APHEDA to work with Cambodian and Lao garment trainers and gain a deeper appreciation for ethical garment production practices.
- 10 HAIRDRESSING STUDENTS/CHINA
Students in a post-trade qualification will participate in a leading industry trade event in Shanghai for a first-hand opportunity to experience the latest trends and technologies and be inspired by around 5,000 industry professionals.
