Scholarships Policy

1. Purpose

Ensure fairness and equity in the awarding of CIT student scholarships sponsored by CIT and/or third parties.


2. Scope

All students who meet the eligibility requirements for individual scholarships and monetary prizes.


3. Principles

3.1 CIT administers a broad range of scholarships sponsored by CIT and/or third parties.

3.2 Student scholarships sponsored exclusively by a CIT college must demonstrate their rationale for the scholarships including sufficient timelines for the full process and a costing prepared by the college's Business Support Manager (BSM). This business case must be approved by the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE).

3.3 The sponsoring organisation for CIT wide student scholarships and college based student scholarships must be approved by the DCE.

3.4 All scholarships administered by CIT must detail the following in an application guideline document:

  1. student eligibility criteria
  2. selection criteria
  3. selection process
  4. timelines
  5. application form.

3.5 The DCE will approve all scholarship application guidelines.

3.6 Scholarship application guidelines will be available from the CIT website for applicants to download when the opportunity is advertised.

3.7 The selection process of all student scholarships must be carried out by a panel agreed by CIT and the sponsoring organisation and be documented by CIT.

3.8 TRIM containers will be used to store all documentation relating to each scholarship.

3.9 All scholarship funding must be tracked and monitored each semester by scholarship recipient.
