An exhibition featuring the works of CIT photography students has opened at the Yogyakarta Institute of Arts, following a study abroad experience in September.

CIT''s partnership with the Yogyakarta Institute of Arts is in its second year and has enabled photography and creative arts students to incorporate traditional Indonesian technique and themes into their practice, as well as gain a deeper appreciation for the diversity of cultural art practice around the world.

The collection of works on show in the exhibition highlights both the industry techniques taught at Canberra Institute of Technology and the cross-cultural learnings gained through the partnership with Indonesia's largest institute for visual and performing art and media practice.

The exhibition will be transported back to Canberra to be shown locally in 2016.

Ten CIT creative arts and photography students will again have the opportunity for an immersive cultural experience overseas in partnership with the Yogyakarta Institute of Arts in 2016, made possible with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education and Training's VET Outbound Mobility Program.
