Come and see some of the regions finest talent in the specialist fields of joinery and cabinet making go head to head in the 2017 Canberra Regional WorldSkills competition, this Thursday 21 September from 1-3pm at CIT Bruce Haydon Drive, D Block ‘The Barn’.

Tim Hannon, a previous gold medallist in carpentry, is going to pit his technical finesse in 2017 in the specialist field of joinery up against past silver medallist joinery apprentice - Timothy Bishell. Raising the stakes and adding to the already competitive atmosphere, the stage is set for RTO v RTO with Douglas Keith, recipient of the prestigious John Tiddy Memorial FIAA Award 2016, Furnishing Industry Association of Australia employed with Myles Gostelow - Furniture Designer/Craftsman.

It will be a high pressure environment for the 2017 Canberra regional WSA joinery judges (led by CIT educator and industry professional Martin Jud) this year, with every join measured and scrutinised to ensure a fair competition is experienced by all.

Please come along between 1-3pm when the excitement will be underway and competitors are watching the clock prepping and finalising their work ready for the judges' appraisals and marking to start.
