Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) was named Large Training Provider of the Year for the tenth year running at the annual ACT Training Awards in Canberra on 13 September.
CIT Chief Executive Leanne Cover said this was a top honour for CIT's staff and students.
"We change the lives of our community through quality education and skills development and are very proud to know we have helped many of the finalists at this year's awards reach their personal goals," Ms Cover said.
"CIT is a trusted, iconic feature of Canberra's landscape and we are ready to drive the future of skills development.
"We wish our winners all the best in the next stage of the awards. They are fantastic advocates of how fulfilling a pathway that includes vocational education and training can be when you have a passion, vision and commitment to success."
CIT also had deserving recipients in the following categories:
- Matthew Egan, Electrical Apprentice (Australian Apprentice (Trainee) of the Year)
- Evan Street, CIT Metal Fabrication Teacher (ACT VET Teacher of the Year)
Each individual winner will progress to the Australian Training Awards while CIT will go through an assessment process to find out if they will be shortlisted to progress as finalists in the national awards.
Winners of the Australian Training Awards to be announced in Sydney on 15 November.
