Skills Recognition
Entry Requirements
Applicants must hold and electrical license and/or a Certificate Ill in Electrotechnology Electrician UEE30820 or equivalent.
To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Literacy Skills Information
We suggest that you will need Australian Core Skills Framework literacy levels of at least 3 across reading, writing, learning, oral communication and, depending on your course of study, numeracy skills to successfully complete this course. If you do not have this level, you can still enrol and seek support to improve your skills or you may prefer to begin with the lower level course. Please visit Foundation Skills.
Transition Information
Qualifications at CIT are regularly updated or replaced to meet current industry needs and maximise your employment opportunities. If this occurs while you are part way through a qualification, you may need to vary your learning to meet the new national requirements. CIT will aim to make this as smooth as possible for you.
Subject Cancellations/Changes
To ensure positive outcomes for all students, CIT may need to cancel or change classes at short notice. CIT will make every effort to inform students as soon as changes are made and will also make every effort to offer alternative arrangements for students to meet the requirements of the subject and complete their qualification. In an unfortunate instance when this cannot be met, you will receive a full refund. Please ensure you maintain current contact details via CIT Self Service or by contacting CIT Student Services at infoline@cit.edu.au.

- UEERE0016 Install, configure and commission LV grid-connected photovoltaic power systems
-
CIT Code: | ELEC1561 |
Cost: | Full fee $750.00 |
Description: | This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to install and commission a low voltage (LV) photovoltaic (PV) power system to the grid power system. It includes working safely and to industry installation standards, matching PV components specified for a given location, placing and securing system components accurately, making required circuit connections and completing the necessary installation documentation. The skills and knowledge described in this unit require a licence or permit to practice in the workplace where work is carried out on electrical installations which are designed to operate at voltages greater than 50 volt (V) alternating current (a.c.) or 120 V direct current (d.c.).Competency development activities in this unit are subject to regulations directly related to licensing. Where a licence or permit to practice is not held, a relevant contract of training, such as an Australian Apprenticeship, is required.Additional and/or other conditions may apply in some jurisdictions subject to regulations related to electrical work. Practice in the workplace and during training is also subject to work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.Note: Those holding an Unrestricted Electrician's Licence or equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory meet the prerequisite requirements of this unit. |

CIT Code: | ELEC1562 |
Cost: | Full fee $750.00 |
Description: | This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to solve problems with solar radiation, photovoltaic (PV) modules and the impact that tilt, location and orientation has on the output of a PV system. It includes providing known solutions to predictable problems in photovoltaic energy modules and system operated at extra-low voltage (ELV) and low voltage (LV).The skills and knowledge described in this unit do not require a license to practice in the workplace provided equipment is not connected to installation wiring at voltages above 50 volt (V) alternating current (a.c.) or 120 V direct current (d.c.). However, other conditions may apply in some states/territories subject to regulations related to electrical work.No other licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Note: Those holding an Unrestricted Electrician's Licence or equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory meet the prerequisite requirements of this unit. |
Prerequisites: | UEECD0016 Document and apply measures to control WHS risks associated with electrotechnology work UEECD0043 Solve problems in direct current circuits Or UEECD0044 Solve problems in multiple path circuits UEECD0046 Solve problems in single path circuits UEECD0025 Lay wiring/cabling and terminate accessories for extra-low voltage (ELV) circuits |
