Overview

This training will provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform various safety activities including pole top rescue, EWP rescue with and without controlled descent and rescue from a live LV panel.

Completion of these units is mandatory for working near the EvoEnergy facilities.

Mandatory training for people who work within the vicinity or near ACT and NSW energy providers network facilities. This training also partially meets NSW energy distributors' mandatory training requirements for working on or near their facilities.

Additional Information

You must bring to class certified (to ANZS) and well maintained PPE including; High Visibility vest or shirt, clothing with wrist to ankle cover, hard hat, safety boots and eye protection, gloves (inner rubber and outer leather).

You must have access (Hardcopy or digital) to applicable Electrical Safety Rules.

Entry Requirements

You must have current competency in HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. On entry, you will be required to provide a Statement of Attainment that shows achievement of this unit.

To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

      Description: This unit covers the performance of pole top rescue procedures as an emergency procedure required in the workplace. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a pole top and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution and rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for rescue, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work. The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace subject to regulations for undertaking of electrical work. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a raised EWP by a work party member on the ground and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work. The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace subject to regulations for undertaking of electrical work.
