This program provides the required knowledge and skills for qualified plumbers and gas fitters to register for a Restricted Electrical License (REL). The license is issued by Access Canberra ACT Government and not CIT.
This license will allow you to work on water heaters which are connected to a low voltage wiring installation.
Note that Restricted License requirements for this category License do not apply to appliances supplied with electricity through a cord and plug. The requirements of AS/NZS 3760 (current) do not apply to this program.
This program achieves units of competency from UEE11 Electrotechnology Training Package.
|Qualification:||Statement of Attainment - training in Restricted Electrical Disconnect - Reconnect (Hot Water Appliances) [from UEE11]|
|Duration:||You will be required to complete a workbook or an on-line component prior to class attendance. This comprises of approximately 22 hours.
You will also attend workshop at CIT Fyshwick campus, approximately 11 hours (one full day and one evening per week for 3 weeks).
Eligible applicants who can demonstrate sufficient knowledge and application of electrical principles may receive fast track training.
Existing restricted electrical license holders; if your license was issued 5 years or more CIT may offer you targeted training under this program to enable you renew your license.
The 2019 Semester 2 enrolment fees for this course are based on the costs per subject as indicated below. The total program cost may vary depending on the choice of elective subjects or if subjects are attempted more than once.
Subject costs identified as Standard are partially subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible students.
Costs identified as Apprentice or Trainee apply only to students studying as part of an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement. The qualification cost for an Apprentice or Trainee is subsidised by the ACT Government. Concessions may be available to eligible Apprentices or Trainees.
Costs identified as Full Fee receive no government subsidy. Concessions are not available.

Entry Requirements / How to Apply
You must be a licensed tradesperson employed in the following trades: plumbing and gas fitter, Type B gas appliances, where disconnection and reconnection of electrical wiring is a component of the work performed.
To study any course at CIT (excluding degrees and non-accredited training) you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

If this occurs while you are part way through a qualification, you may need to vary your learning to meet the new national requirements. CIT will aim to make this as smooth as possible for you.

Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre

CIT Code: CNST796 Cost: Full fee $1,460.00 Description: This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a vehicle loading crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a HRWL licence to operate this plant. Vehicle loading crane means a crane mounted on a vehicle for loading and unloading the vehicle. A person undertaking this unit must hold: - a current National High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to perform dogging or a certification for a specific VET course for HRWL to perform dogging. A person performing this work is required to hold a vehicle loading crane HRWL. This unit requires a person operating a slewing vehicle loading crane with an MRC of 10 metre tonnes or more to: - plan for the work/task - prepare for the work/task - perform work/task - pack up Prerequisites: Nil
